Responsibilities include:

  1. Aligns Virginia Mason Human Resource services and solutions to support the business model with assigned clients.  This includes assessing, planning and implementing Human Resource processes related to workforce planning, job descriptions, performance management, compensation programs that align with a sales based workforce. 
  2. Assures that the HR team assigned to the client is aligned and delivering services within the service delivery agreements.
  3. Partners with the assigned  Client leadership to provide human resource services and support on complex employee relations issues such as investigations, policy violations, ADA accommodations, FMLA, harassment and EEOC complaints. Utilizes effective interviewing techniques to obtain accurate information and provide appropriate recommendations based upon findings and factual analysis.   Able to effectively and clearly synthesize investigative results into a written report.
  4. Provides consulting support to the front line leader to resolve team based issues, performance management processes and other HR solutions in accordance with defined VMMC policies and procedures.
  5. Works with employees at all levels of client groups to field questions, explain and interpret VMMC policies and practices.  Acts as a liaison between employees, management b by providing recommendations for problem resolution.  Maintains current and thorough documentation.
  6. Deploys standard HR tools and training to increase management proficiency in effectively managing human resource issues.
  7. Collaborates on projects related to employee/staff relations, including policy development and revision, research and legal compliance in the employment law arena. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, related area or equivalency, required. 
  • Minimum of four years of HR experience and demonstrated knowledge of human resources functions, laws required.    
  • Must be familiar with human resource practices needed to support and develop a sales based work force.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking, problem solving and independent judgment to complex and difficult employee relations issues, consistent with standards, practices, policies and procedures, regulations or government law.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • PHR and/or SPHR preferred.
